What`s The Difference Between OSRAM Xenarc Night Breaker Unlimited and Philips Xenon X-treme Vision Gen2?

You may have heard that Philips have launched their brand new range of Gen2 Xenon HID bulbs. Today, we're going to pit the Xenon X-treme Vision Gen2 against one of our bestsellers, the OSRAM Xenarc Night Breaker Unlimited. Let's see who wins in the Battle of the Bulbs...

Take a look at the main differences between the two ranges below:

OSRAM Xenarc Night Breaker Unlimited Philips Xenon X-treme Vision Gen2
Colour temperature 4350K 4800K
Light on the road Up to 70% more than standard Up to 150% more than standard
Special Feature 5% whiter than standard UV-Quartz glass

Colour temperature

With a Kelvin rating of 4350K, the OSRAM Xenarc Night Breaker Unlimited bulb delivers a strong light with a white tint. However, this is the Xenon X-treme Vision's round. A colour temperature of 4800K produces a strong white light for that crisp, modern look.

Light on the road

Both bulbs offer extra light on the road, but again, it's the Philips Xenon X-treme Vision Gen2 that emerges victorius from this round. These bulbs produce up to 150% more light on the road, which is no match for OSRAM's up to 70%.

With both bulbs, the extra light produced will help you to spot potential hazards with ease, improving your reaction time.

Other features

It's also worth mentioning the other great features of each range. OSRAM Xenarc Night Breaker Unlimited produces a beam that is 5% whiter than a standard Xenon HID, meaning that you'll look extra stylish on the road at night.

The Philips Xenon X-treme Vision Gen2 range is manufactured using UV-Quartz glass. This strong material can resist temperature fluctuations and vibrations, and has a protective layer applied to the glass. This means that your bulb is less likely to fail early and should last longer, too.

Don't forget, both OSRAM and Philips are actively tackling the counterfeit Xenon HID market. On every OSRAM and Philips Xenon HID bulb you buy from PowerBulbs (that was manufactured after 01/10/15), you'll find an authenticity sticker which allows you to verify your Xenon HID bulb.

Which bulb is better?

The Philips Xenon X-treme Vision Gen2 range wins on paper, as it has a higher Kelvin rating and produces more light on the road than the OSRAM Xenarc Night Breaker Unlimited. However, the Philips is still a very new bulb on the market, whereas the OSRAM range is a tried and tested bestseller here at PowerBulbs.

Both of these ranges will produce a strong, stylish light, plus help you to see much further on the road in comparison to standard.
