Say hello to our newest bulb on the block - OSRAM Night Breaker Laser! If you've already heard of the range, you may be wondering how it compares to OSRAM Night Breaker Unlimited.

Time to get down to the nitty-gritty: we've put these two ranges up against each other to see how they compare. Let the Battle of the Bulbs commence!

Take a look at the main differences between the OSRAM Night Breaker Unlimited and the OSRAM Night Breaker Laser in this chart:

OSRAM Night Breaker Unlimited OSRAM Night Breaker Laser Gas mixture Xenon and halogen mixture Pure Xenon filling Light on the road Up to 110% more than standard Up to 130% more than standard Light beam length Up to 35m longer than standard Up to 40m longer than standard Bulb design Partial blue coating and a silver cap A laser etched precision window plus the brand name is etched onto the bulb
Gas mixture

As OSRAM Night Breaker Unlimited is a maximum performance bulb, it uses a mixture of Xenon and halogen gas. This provides a boost in performance in comparison to a standard halogen bulb.

Although the OSRAM Night Breaker Laser is also a maximum performance halogen bulb, it instead uses a pure Xenon gas filling. This means that it can deliver more light power on the road than the Night Breaker Unlimited can, as Xenon gas produces a whiter, brighter light in comparison to halogen gas. Please note that the Night Breaker Laser is still a fully road legal halogen bulb, and is a like-for-like replacement for your existing standard halogen.

Light performance

When driving at night with the OSRAM Night Breaker Unlimited, you'll benefit from up to 110% more light on the road than standard, as well as an up to 35m longer light beam.

This is no match for the Night Breaker Laser. The range delivers an impressive up to 130% more light and an up to 40m longer light beam in comparison to a standard halogen.  That's an increase of 20% extra light on the road and a 5m longer beam. Amazing stuff - especially when you realise how good the Night Breaker Unlimited range is already!

Bulb design

Both ranges have uniquely designed bulbs. The Night Breaker Unlimited range has an eye-catching design with a partial blue coating, adding a stylish element to your car even when the bulb is not illuminated.

The OSRAM Night Breaker Laser range takes this one step further. OSRAM have used innovative technology to etch a laser formed window in the glass of the bulb. You'll benefit from a whiter light than standard and optimised light distribution on the road. For added style, the brand name is also etched onto the glass of the bulb.

Which bulb is better?

When it comes down to the facts and figures, the OSRAM Night Breaker Laser offers more light on the road, a longer beam and a whiter light than the Night Breaker Unlimited.

However, the Night Breaker Laser is currently only available in H7 and 9003 (HB2/H4) fittings. If your car uses another fitting, the Night Breaker Unlimited is still a great choice. You'll see many benefits by upgrading from a standard halogen to either the Night Breaker Unlimited or the Night Breaker Laser.
