The Xenon Gas Discharge system is fitted on more and more of today's vehicles. Phillips have been pioneers of this system which is why we recommend using their high quality replacement parts. This product is also a suitable replacement for an OSRAM Xenarc (66250) or any other D2R.
Rather than using a standard halogen based bulb with a filament, the high intensity discharge (HID) system generates an arc of light between two tungsten electrodes.
The system produces around 200% more light than standard headlight bulbs and as a result regulators have required vehicle manufacturers to fit lens cleaners and automatic headlight levellers to ensure that oncoming vehicles are not subject to glare. The D2R components in the vehicle generally last around 5 years. They should always be changed in pairs to ensure a consistent beam pattern.
This product is sold individually so add two to your basket if you wish to purchase a pair.
NOTE: It is highly recommended that Xenon components are changed in pairs to avoid disparities in the beam pattern and colour.
This product is suitable only for vehicles with the Xenon HID system already installed. This is a direct STANDARD replacement, not an upgrade.

In terms of light output, the Xenon HID system is unmatched, but please remember this product is only suitable for vehicles that have this system factory fitted. This is not an HID upgrade kit (which are illegal and potentially dangerous).
