Philips Blue Vision sidelight/parking/city light bulbs are designed for drivers who are looking to improve the styling of their vehicles. It's important to emphasise that, despite the name, the product delivers a white light - not blue.

The ordinary sidelight has a yellow colour when illuminated. This is because a standard halogen lamp is being used. Philips Blue Vision has a blue coating on the lamp which means when illuminated it removes the tradiitonal yellow colour and replaces it with a crisp, white light.

Furthermore, because the product is built by Philips, it's also fully road legal to use across Europe and is compliant with ECE R37. Many cheaper, lower quality side light bulbs do not have this assurance and will result in the vehicle failing road safety tests, such as the MOT test in the UK.

Are they legal to use and do I need to modify my vehicle?

The product is fully road legal and directly interchangeable with your existing bulbs, so there's no need to modify your vehicle, just replace the lamps.
